7^TH ANNUAL UPPER TOWNSHIP SCHOOL BUS

                       SAFETY POSTER CONTEST

The following information and rules are to be used by all students entering the

2011 – 2012 School Bus Safety Poster Contest.  All posters submitted for entry must meet all the

criteria listed below in order to be judged.  Posters not meeting the criteria will be disqualified.

 

DIVISIONS:

Division I                    Primary School          Grades K - 2

Division 2                   Elementary School    Grades 3  - 5

Division 3                   Middle School            Grades 6  - 8

 

DEADLINE: All posters must be submitted by Friday, January 27, 2012.  All                                     posters are to be submitted to the school office.

 

JUDGING:    Judging of all posters will be the week of February 6, 2012.

Winners will be announced at the February, 2012 Board Meeting and featured on the                   Upper Township School Web Site and UTTV. 

 

THEME:        “STAND BACK from the YELLOW and BLACK”

 

Contestants must illustrate above theme only, and the theme must be included on the poster.  Illustrations should be positive in approach, demonstrating only proper school bus safety behaviors. 

Please note the following rules:

 

·         Poster size must be 12” X 18” only.  There must be a completed 3” x 5” card/entry blank securely fastened to the back of the poster (see card below). Posters may be held vertically or horizontally.

·         Poster must include a yellow school bus and must demonstrate proper school bus safety behaviors.

·         No stenciled, pre-printed, manufactured stick-on, or press on letters may be used.

·         Wood, plaster, glass or metal should not be part of the poster.  Collage materials should not be used.

·         Lamination is not permitted.

·         Poster designs may not incorporate any copyrighted characters, i.e. comic and/or television characters, photographs, or magazine/newspaper illustrations.

·         All designs must be original ideas from the students.

·         Instructors should supervise artwork; completion of art should be done in school.

      All entries become property of the Transportation Safety Committee.
